Wet Canvas: A Matter of Uncertainty

Up to this point, I spent about 120 minutes working on this canvas. Although I’m not reaching my goal of completing this painting in four hours, it’s a fun struggle as it has enabled me to reconnect with painting!

The hurdles and uncertainty from trying to structure a vision in my mind remind very much present in how I paint. I find it funny how, despite all the feedback I’ve received in recent years, I continue approaching a fresh canvas pretty much the same way.

Not having a set plan is a big part of how I work, but I'm open to experimenting with how I begin new paintings in the future. The idea of using reference material like pictures or making preliminary sketches could help me get better accuracy, but accuracy is not the reason why I paint.
