Photo Shoot Backstory: Vianca in the Laundromat

I met with Vianca for some casual portraits at her mom’s laundromat in Bridgeport, CT. I’ve wanted to do something similar for quite some time, and I was excited when the opportunity finally came through.

Shooting in a laundromat is very exciting, the geometric shapes in contrast to all the textural elements that are available such as chrome and concrete, make an excellent setting for experimenting with perspective and depth of field.

On this occasion, I shot in both digital and film exposing for highlights that came from fluorescent lights in the ceiling. I hope I can return another day so I can make better use of the diffused daylight that filters through the storefront windows.
